Hotline 1.7 bug reported; another Open Files limit problem Mike Silverman claims that Hotline 1.7 has a "very nasty bug. It opens up another instance of your Internet Preferences file every minute or so." This means you soon reach the 348 limit, triggering avariety of odd symptoms and errors, including possible crashes. [See also the item today on Word 98 and the Save bug for a related problem.] He used MacsBug to confirm that Hotline was indeed the cause of all this. Does Hotline 1.7.1 fix this? Nope; at least that's what several other readers say who have now confirmed this bug. [By the way, when you download this update, it still says that you have version 1.7 (build 0917). If this build is meant to be 1.7.1, I wish they would identify it as such.]

Consultant Weeks view bug Joshua Rafofsky claims that, in Consultant 2.58, when using the Week View, the previous month is missing when you scroll back. That is, when you scroll back from September, "the title bar stays on September until you reach July" - although the actual dates for August are correct. This has now been confirmed by two other readers.
