No more updates for Home Page FileMaker "has no plans for any future version of Home Page at this time." Kind of sad. PageMill and Home Page were the first two popular WYSIWYG HTML editors. They are still the easiest to use. But Adobe has pretty much abandoned PageMill in favor of GoLive and now Home Page is out in the cold as well.

Matrix DVD: a follow-up Consistent with our previous reports: Using the Adaptec UDF extension instead of the Apple one solved (almost) all problems that David Zimmermann was having with The Matrix. He has a Wired 4DVD card and DVD Station 1.0.1.

FileMaker, ATR and FAXstf conflict? Thomas Maler writes: If I try to fax from FileMaker 4.0v3 or 4.1v3 database document using FAXstf Pro 5.0.3, as soon as I enter the phone number and click Send, FileMaker quits with Type 11 or 3 or 2 error. I tracked it down to a conflict between Adobe Type Reunion 4.5.1 and FileMaker. If I turn off ATR 4.5.1 from its control panel, I can fax from FM without any problems."

Update: Geoff Strickler writes: "I don't have ATR 4.5.1 so I can't verify this, but having run into similar problems with fax software (and some print drivers) in the past, I suspect this may be due to insufficient memory being allocated to one of the products involved. Often the application itself needs additional RAM allocated since many fax and print drivers borrow memory from the application to image pages."

Wacom and TechTool: conflict and work-around Gary Politzer found that his Mac would crash at startup when attempting to load the Wacom Tablet 4.4.0 extension. It turned out that there was a conflict between the Tablet software and TechTool Pro 2's Protection Extension. However, a posting in the MacFixIt Forums suggests a solution: "I turned the Protection extension off, trashed the Wacom preference file and rebooted. The Wacom driver loaded correctly. I then turned Protection back on and rebooted--all works well."
