Jeopardy bug; DssW Power Manager for OS X

Try Goliath for using iDisk Jungle Payne recommends trying Goliath 0.9 if you find that your iDisk mounts, opens, reads or writes too slowly. "It's a WebDAV app for OS X that makes iDisk what it should be, even for those of us still riding 56K modems."

Peak install glitch? Bernard Lopez reports a problem installing the new Bias Peak 3.0 upgrade CD: "Tried installing in OS X and everything appears to proceed normally including the online software registration. However the Peak 3.0 folder that is created contains 9 items, but none of them are the actual application or its icon. Also tried installing natively in 9.2.2 and was greeted by the same missing application."

Update: A note from Peak support on their email list states: "An early run of the installers for Peak 3.0 suffer from a bug when installing on some G4 systems. Essentially your system is 'unrecognized' so the installer doesn't know whether to install the G4 version of Peak or the 'regular' version. Unfortunately in it's confusion it installs neither! If you contact technical support they can verify this for you and provide you with a fix. A limited number of CDs were dispatched with this problem and CD's shipped from the end of last week shouldn't suffer from it. If this occurs to you contact support@bias-inc.com and they'll arrange the fix for you."

Jeopardy bug not yet fixed Tom McKenna writes: "Jeopardy 2 came out for Mac OS classic and Mac OS X in time for Christmas 2001. There is a longstanding bug which makes the game nearly unplayable. It's detailed here: "When I get to Final Jeopardy and the clue is revealed, the music seems to skip and end prematurely. I don't even get close to 30 seconds to type in my response." The publishers replied: "We are aware of this problem with the game and anticipate having a patch available that will fix it very shortly." Unfortunately, they have not yet posted this promised fix.

DssW Power Manager for OS X coming J. Fernando Rey received word from the vendor that a "Mac OS X edition of DssW Power Manager is in development. At this time no release date has been decided."
