Nolo software no longer for Macs Leo Salais received the following note from Nolo.com, the legal software and information site: "Our current version of Personal RecordKeeper, Version 5.0, actually is a dual-platform CD. However, the reason a Mac version is not mentioned is because, unfortunately, we are no longer going to be supporting Macs for our software near the end of the year. All our ebooks, eguides, eforms, and webforms are still going to be compatible, as well as all the files in CD-ROM and on floppy disk on the back of our books, so we have not completely abandoned Mac users. However, we were putting more money into making our software Mac-compatible than we were making from the sales to our Mac customers."

Action GoMac conflicts with Apple DVD Player 2.3? A reader reports that the Apple DVD Player will quit unexpectedly if Present on Video Screen is selected while Action GoMac 2.03 is installed, at least on his 2000 PowerBook with Mac OS 9.1. Relauching the player will result in an error stating that the resolution of the video card is incorrect. (Thanks, Carl Bachellier and Mike Kingsley.)

Photoshop 6 crashing bug followup Confirming a report we first posted yesterday, Robert Paege writes, "I was finally able to repeatedly duplicate the previously reported crashing bug with the docked characters palette. I found that doing any other command other than immediately clicking on a new tool after changing leading, such as changing layers, will avoid the crash." James Oh also told us that he reported this problem to Adobe a couple of months ago, Adobe could reproduce it, and they told him it would be looked into.
