Invalid kernel extensions? Looking at our system.log recently, we noticed an odd pair of error messages. They cited two files in /System/Library/Extensions as "not a valid kernel extension bundle." They were: msdosfs.kext and webdav_fs.kext. Indeed, when we opened the Extensions folder, the icon for these files was an ordinary folder icon rather than the document icon used by kext packages. They appear to be Mac OS X installed files, needed for file sharing. We have no idea why they do not appear the same as other kext extensions nor my the console flags them as errors.
