106743: Mac OS X 10.1: Additional Features of the Dock was updated again yesterday. However, other users have chimed in with additional shortcuts still not covered by the note. Andy Perry writes: "The note mentions that Command-Option-Click hides all other applications while switching to the app clicked on. But it doesn't mention that Option-Click hides just the current foremost application while switching." Chris Bautista points out that its possible to click and drag on the separator to resize the Dock. (The note does point out that Option-dragging on the separator will resize the Dock in even increments.)

Update: Doug Everly writes: "There is also another command key trick that is very helpful. When dragging an icon to the Dock, the docked icons spread apart to make room. This can make it tricky to drop the icon from the Finder on an app or folder in the Dock. Holding down the Command key during the drag will prevent the icons from moving, making a drop on the target much easier."

Building an OS X Server on a PPC 8500 Richard Blake has posted a Web page explaining how he installed Mac OS X 10.1.4 server on a Mac 8500 with a Sonnet G3/333 processor card. Bluetooth adapter unavailable Brent Rossow spotted that the Apple Store now lists the Bluetooth adapter as "Temporarily unavailable."

OmniWeb 4.x can't read Yahoo groups? Arne Berglund suddenly began having difficulty accessing Yahoo Groups with OmniWeb (versions 4.1 b2 and 4.0.6). He writes: "Other browsers continue to work properly; I suspect it is caused by a change on Yahoo's servers."

iMic records taps Hugo Diaz writes: "Without any microphone connected to the iMic, if I tap the iMic case in several different places, they can be heard in the audio signal, getting softer and stronger depending on the location. I don't know if this is normal or not, but it seems odd, considering there is no microphone attached." Users who are getting unexplained noises might want to see if the device is getting bumped while in use.

Apple Pro Speaker extension cable sought Nicolas Solberg is looking for an extension cable to connect Apple Pro Speakers to a G4 tower. We never seen one. If you have, let us know.

Update: Will Kazez writes: "The short answer I arrived upon after numerous calls to Apple, Harmon Kardon, and third party cable suppliers is: Give up and learn how to solder. An extension cable does not exist and the only solution is to make one yourself." Ben Rosenthal notes that this page sells cables that might work: 6 and 12-foot 2.5mm Male-Female Stereo Shielded cables.
