AntiGax Defender update fixes conflicts Last time, we wrote that "GaxDefender (a component of the AntiGax package) was the cause of system crashes that occurred when launching ClarisWorks 4.05. According to Bob Bousfield, it may also cause problems with AppleShare IP 6.0. Several readers (including Brian Gore and Marc Sonnenschein) let me know that an updated version of Defender (1.1.1) fixes these problems. It is available as a separate download item and has apparently also been added to the AntiGax package.
Update: Bob Nickels claims that 1.1.1 did not fix the ClarisWorks problem for him.

Tomb Raider II and desktop icons A couple of readers note that, after quitting the new Tomb Raider II demo, some of their desktop icons have been moved form their original location. With me, this happened just for the icons of disk volumes. It probably has something to do with the monitor resolution switching that is done as part of the game setup. Others report that pop-up folders/windows are reverted to normal windows when quitting Tomb Raider.

Talk City on 8.5 Tim Holmes, one of the Mac OS Developer Relations Team, will be on Talk City to night (8 pm ET). He will of course be talking about Mac OS 8.5.

EndNote, the superb bibliographic database program, has been updated to version 3.1.
