Solving AppleShare problems A new Apple TIL file details how AppleShare privileges are stored. LocalTalk bridge conflicts A new Apple TIL file describes how to resolve network number conflicts with LocalTalk Bridge.

iPrint Adapter announced Farallon announced its EtherMac iPrint Adapter LT. It will allow Apple's iMac to connect to LocalTalk printers and other LocalTalk devices such as older Macintosh computers.

MS Office printing glitch Thomas Rankin writes: "After installing MS Office 98 on my G3, I experienced system crashes every time I tried to print from Word to my GCC Elite 1212. The tech at GCC suggested I disable the Apple Desktop PrintMonitor and Desktop Printer Spooler extensions." This did the trick.

Update: Yong Bradley had the same problem. He eventually isolated RAM Charger as the cause. When he turned off RAM Charger's "optimizing" of memory, the problem went away.

Faster G3 chips coming A MacWEEK article reports that Motorola has introduced 300,333, and 366MHz PowerPC chips that use far less power than current chips. Expect them to be included in G3 Macs soon.
