Formatter One Pro problems? Fujitsu DynaMO drives ship with Formatter One Pro driver. Several users have reported problems with it, including freezes, inaccessible disks and lost data. I have no official confirmation of these problems, but you can check a message board on Deal-Mac for more details. (Thanks, Chan Lee Meng.)

Smart Label Printer Pro does not work in Mac OS 8.5 According to Tom Terry, Smart Label Printer Pro software is not compatible with Mac OS 8.5. Smart Label's Tech Support told him that they are aware of the problem and that there "might be" a patch available sometime in the future. Oddly, several readers claim to have had no problem with this combination.

FWB 2.x and ATTO card conflict Michael Moretti was having frequent crashes with a G3 300/MT outfitted with an ATTO ExpressPCI dual-channel card and two Viking 4.2 SCSI drives. Both drives were initially formatted/initialized with FWB HDT 2.5.2. The likely explanation was found on ATTO's Web site: "WARNING: Users of FWB Utility Software should not upgrade to version 1.2 of ATTO ExpressPCI Firmware. FWB users should continue to use version 1.1.1 until further notice. Users of FWB RAID Toolkit v2.0.6 or earlier should also use EPCI V1.1.1. FWB RAID ToolKit v2.0.7 resolves the issue and may be used with the most current version of ExpressPCI firmware." ATTO Tech Support told Michael that FWB HDT 3.0.x appears to be free of any of these conflicts.
