Quicken 98R5has returned for the third time (still with no explanation of its previous disappearance and no explanation of what might have been changed). I have downloaded all three versions. As far as I can tell, the Updater application is exactly the same in all cases. However, the TAX.SCD file is different. Too bad they don't let people who already have the Updater download just the file.

PowerPoint 4-8 Translator is out. PowerPoint 4-8 Translator Update converts graphic-heavy presentations from PowerPoint 4 to PowerPoint 98 using less memory. This addresses a problem previously covered here.

GeeThree.com's Stealth Serial Port is a "device that gives a fully compatible serial port for the Blue Power Mac G3. It works with LocalTalk, MIDI and virtually any serial Mac application. It will be available next week. The Stealth Serial Port is made up of a small interface card that plugs into the modem slot on the G3 logic board and a mini-DIN8 connector that provides a connection to a standard Macintosh serial cable. Installation takes a few minutes using a screwdriver. It works with any B&W G3 Power Macintosh with an empty internal modem slot. Users also need to download the Stealth Serial Port extension."

Onyx fix The "adult" game Onyx may have a conflict with Blue and White G3's and some third-party G3 accelerator cards. A possible "fix" has been posted.
