IomegaWare conflict Although overall feedback for IomegaWare 1.1.3 has been positive, two readers (Steve Payne and Devesh Komaromi) report getting system crashes whenever they launch the new Iomega Tools. Devesh found that reverting to the 6.0.2 version of the Iomega driver fixed the problem. Steve found that the Global Village Teleport 56 1.0.3 control panel was the source of the conflict. He disabled it and Iomega Tools launched just fine.

Video Wizard a no go on G3/BW's? Two readers (Jim Ridenour and Will Loving ) report that Micro Conversions' Video Wizard card does not work in a G3/BW. The machine may not even boot with the card installed. Will was told by Micro Conversions that WizardWare v1.8 (not yet released) will fix the long-standing problem of only being able to display TV video on the monitor running off the card, which must be the primary monitor (with the menu bar). It was not clear if it will fix the G3/BW problem.

Utility question Does any one know of a freeware/shareware utility that works similarly to SCSIProbe, but lists and mounts IDE/ATAPI devices as well as SCSI ones? If it also works for USB and/or FireWire devices, even better.

Update: A few readers suggested Mt. Everything. I tried it; it did not list IDE devices on my Macs. Drive Setup works of course and readers say Silverlining Lite also works. I was looking for a utility that was not also a disk formatting utility, but I guess these will have to do.

USB cards and wake-from-sleep crashes: a follow-up The newest versions of Apple's USB DDK remedied the crash when waking from sleep problem that one reader was having after installing a USB card in his beige G3 (see previous report).
