Anarchie 3.5 security glitch Jerry Pyle notes a security concern in Anarchie Pro 3.5: "If in the Lists box, I highlight a file name, then copy the URL, when I select to Paste, my user name and password are revealed." Peter Lewis (of Stairsways Software) confirmed that this can happen and said it would be corrected in version 3.6.

ATI Extension and ATI Config Menu: a follow-up Last time, we noted that disabling the ATI Extension would remove the new ATI Config Menu (thus recovering the menu bar real estate it occupies). Unfortunately, disabling the extension also appears to eliminates 3D acceleration. Lorin Rivers wrote to ATI about this. They replied that there is no good work-around to get rid of the Menu other than to revert to version 3.3 of the ATI drivers.

Update: Gene Shekhtman disputes the initial claim. He writes: "I have the ATI Extension 2.6.6 disabled. There is absolutely no effect on 3D acceleration."

Password scheme for Internet Config broken Be careful if you store passwords with Internet Config. If someone has access to your computer, the password may not be safe. The Macintosh Security Site claims to have broken its encryption scheme.
