UMAX SCSI scanners don't work on new G3s? Phillip Comparet was unable to use his UMAX scanner connected to his new blue and white G3 via an ATTO Express SCSI PCI card. He was told by UMAX tech support that the only UMAX scanners currently working with the new G3s are the USB models. New drivers will likely be needed for SCSI card support.
Update: Mark Grebe replies: "I talked to someone else at UMAX scanner tech support, and they checked around there, and could not confirm any problems with UMAX scanners and SCSI cards in the New G3's. They knew of no reason that their drivers would work differently with SCSI in the G3 versus any other machine. They did suggest that perhaps Phillip was using an old version of the drivers."

He contacted Apple, who confirmed the problem (at least with InfoSeek) and said they would investigate further. When I checked the Directory this morning, the HotBot plug-in was not listed.
