Cookie privacy bug OnlinePrivacy.com has detected a bug in web browsers that "allows any web site to download cookies on the user's system placed by other web sites in a small number of cases." This is also covered in articles from Cnet news.com and Internet news.com.

Kodak digital cameras may explode Fox News reports that "Eastman Kodak Co. is recalling 120,000 AC adapters for digital cameras because of an electrical problem that could cause camera batteries to leak acid and explode." (Thanks, Larry Lloyd.)

Macnologist covers Y2K For those who remain concerned about Y2K issues on the Mac, The Macnologist web site has recently updated it's Y2K info center. "You can find dozens of non-compliant or upgrade needed Mac applications listed on the site, as well as a Y2K message board." (Thanks, Rich Barron.)

2020 in the Date & Time control panel Matthew Wilkins discovered that the Date & Time control panel cannot list a year past 2019. If you try, you get 1920 instead of 2020. Apple is aware of this. A TIL article states: "This will be addressed with a future version of the Mac OS."

Sound error and fonts Previously, we mentioned a TIL article that linked a "Not enough Memory is available while using Sound Manager" error message to a damaged Sound Preferences file. Oddly, Dave Provine found that the same exact error message may also result from using corrupted fonts. In his case, trashing the fonts eliminated the message.
