The Palm Pre has finally gone on sale in the UK today, four months after launching in the US. But be warned: it ain't cheap.

It's Palm's answer to Apple's iPhone, and O2's exclusive rights to sell it has resulted in the network flogging it close to the same prices as the iPhone 3GS itself. You lot love charts, so here's one we prepared earlier:

When we reviewed the UK Pre earlier this month we awarded it a respectable 8.8 out of 10. The iPhone 3GS, on the other torso-connected extremity, scored 9.3. "It matches the iPhone for touchscreen innovation," our mobile expert Flora said in her definitive conclusion, "offering a user interface whose gesture and multi-touch capability make for a genuinely finger-friendly phone.

"The physical keyboard is handy, if you can get to grips with its tiny keys, but the App Catalog needs some serious attention." Obviously, for the full low-down, hit up our full Palm Pre review here.

Which brings us to the bit where we ask you the ultimate question: are you going to buy one? Have you already? We're keen to know your thoughts on this, so throw some feedback in the comments section. And of course the CNET UK mobile phone forum is your friend if you have any questions at all about the Pre.
