O Beckham, Where Art Thou?

We went for the phone but we were definitely not alone.

We were hoping to bring you some pics of the latest in uber-expensive fashion phones, the Motorola MOTORAZR2 V8 Luxury Edition, and if David Beckham got between us and the phone then so be it.

Unfortunately, a couple of hundred drooling, boggled-eyed fans got between us and either the phone or the man when he made a brief appearance at the Optus store on George St in Sydney this morning.

As you can see from the pics we did manage to take; a deep crowd surrounded all the windows of the store, with numerous police corralling the masses and holding us at arms length! OK, so we're a tiny bit bitter not to have set foot in the store. Yes, we would have loved to have seen Becks in the flesh, and yes, a glimpse at the garish golden handset would have been nice too.

You can be sure we'll bring you photos of the MOTORAZR2 V8 Luxury Edition as soon as we get our sweaty paws on them. As for Beckham, haven't you seen enough of him already?
