Now you can play Flappy Bird on an e-cigarette: Puff, puff, flap
Kiss your productivity goodbye. Flappy Bird has flown onto vapes and that little electronic bird will claim your soul.
In early 2014, it seemed like at least half the world was addicted to a simple free smartphone game that involved piloting a bird around obstacles. That description belies Flappy Bird's viral impact. It was downloaded many millions of times and sucked up hours and hours of its fans' lives. It's had an eventful existence, though it's not nearly the phenomenon it once was. A new port of the game may change that.
YouTube user Balázs Bank uploaded a video of an eVic-VTC Mini e-cigarette on Sunday. The device comes from vape maker Joyetech and is notable because it has upgradable firmware. So Bank did what any reasonable vape user with software skills would do: he ported Flappy Bird to his vape.
The Super Mario-style Flappy Bird works surprisingly well on the tiny e-cigarette screen. It's in black and white, but simple up-and-down controls are all you need.
Bank included a link to the firmware file for fellow vape users. "Flash this firmware at your own risk. I will not take any responsibility for damaging your device," Bank notes in the video description.
While vaping and Flappy Birding might seem like an ideal combination, it does require some effort to get the device to switch between the two modes. You'll need to reinstall the original firmware to get back to puffing.
Bank says it only took him a few hours to get Flappy Bird up and running and that it's still in beta mode. To prove he's not a one-hit wonder, he also uploaded a video of himself playing the classic video game Snake on his e-cigarette. Between the Flappy Bird vape and this playable Tetris business card, you'll never get anything done again.
