Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.0: public server glitch?

CNET staff
Eric Milligan describes an "inconvenient" feature of Now Up-to-Date & Contact 4.0:

"Connections to the NUTD&C public server applications are made via TCP/IP only. In version 3, they were made via AppleTalk. The two Server applications take the IP address of the Mac on which they are running, but have different port numbers. This works fine if the Mac has a static IP address. If, as is the case in our office, the Macs get their addresses dynamically from a router with built-in DHCP server, and the Server Mac gets a new IP number, the NUTD/Contact clients can lose track of where the server is located because the IP address they have for it is out of date. The client programs have no way to automatically update the IP number for the server they are supposed to connect to."
