Now Up-to-Date & Contact 3.8.1 posted; fixes control panel problems

As we posted yesterday, Now Up-to-Date & Contact 3.8.1 has been released (thanks, Marc Orchant). As to what it fixes, the Power On Software web page states only: "It corrects a problem with the Now Up-to-Date & Contact 3.8 control panels." We have heard from readers that it fixes the problems with Microsoft Office applications that we reported here last week.

Regarding the original 3.8 version: Parker Bennett was unable to enter his serial number in the Now Contact Server application. Power On told him that this was a problem with an initial posting of the file; they reposted a fix (without a version number upgrade). Presumably, getting 3.8.1 will also fix this. [Update: Gerry Graff writes that 3.8.1 did not fix his serial number problem.]
