Nokia isn't done pumping out Lumia smartphones yet. On Tuesday, the company invited press to a late afternoon launch of the latest Nokia Lumia phone, in conjunction with Microsoft's Build conference held in San Francisco.

Clues on the invitation were sparse, listing just the time, location, and date, alongside the words "Join us for more."

Although Nokia and Microsoft have missed the deadline for Microsoft's purchase of Nokia's phone division, the two companies say they are still committed to the sale. If that sale goes through, this mystery device could very well be the last Nokia-branded Lumia produced.

Lately, Nokia has been leaning into low-cost phones that appeal to people around the world who are on tight budgets -- this forthcoming Lumia might be part of that shift to emerging markets. Then again, it's also possible that this "last" Lumia is a flagship knockout on the level of the high-end, camera-focused Lumia 1020 or extra-large Lumia 1520.

CNET will be on the ground with all the news of the new phone.
