Nokia is preparing its N8 flagship smart phone for its maiden voyage to the UK. But before you set about your piggy bank with a baseball bat and potentially squander your life savings, make sure you check out our video review above.

The N8 certainly offers cutting-edge hardware, including a sleek aluminium case -- available in a range of funky colours -- and a 12-megapixel camera that can challenge a decent compact snapper for picture quality. Its HDMI output lets you play videos and games on a big-screen TV.

But the new Symbian 3 operating system just isn't much fun to use, especially when you compare it to the iPhone and Android operating systems. While Nokia has eliminated many of the infuriating popups that drove us insane in Symbian's earlier incarnations, its social-networking features and poor app store can't compete with the Apple and Google equivalents.

After you've watched the video, you might like to peruse our in-depth review of the N8 too. As ever, spill your beans in the comments section below.
