Last night's official launch of the Nokia Lumia 925 held one small surprise for attendees: news of an exclusive deal for Vodafone Australia.

Globally, the phone comes in either 16GB or 32GB, depending on which market you're in. Telstra and Optus both have the 16GB versions, and it was thought that like the US, the 32GB would not be available in Australia.

It turns out that the higher storage version will be making an Australian appearance after all.

The 32GB will be exclusive to Vodafone. The Lumia 925 has no micro-SD port, so the larger memory may be important to some users.

The Vodafone exclusive is time limited, but Nokia representatives were unable to say what that time frame would be. It does mean, however, that at some point, the 32GB variant will land at other telcos.

We'll update when pricing and plan details are made available by Vodafone.
