Carphone Warehouse has listed the Nokia Lumia 900 on its site with an 'expected' May release date, meaning the UK will likely be getting to grips with the Windows Phone-powered device in less than three months' time.

Getting to grips is probably the right term, as the Lumia 900 boasts a palm-stretching 4.3-inch display, and plays bigger brother to the 3.7-inch Lumia 800 -- released last year to much acclaim.

There's no word on pricing yet unfortunately, but I'd expect this phone to be wallet-combustingly expensive -- this is a high-end smart phone and no mistake.

Meanwhile Carphone Warehouse (a whole warehouse of carphones, just think about that!) is letting folks register for alerts when the phone becomes available to pre-order. If a more affordable Windows Phone device would tickle your fancy, examine the Lumia 610.

Carphone Warehouse actually leaked the Lumia 900's arrival in the UK back in January, with a listing page that went live and was subsequently taken down.

The CNET UK collective has already had the privilege of going hands-on with the Lumia 900, getting our sticky paws all over Nokia's latest effort last week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and it's fair to say I'm feeling optimistic.

Inside there's a 1.4GHz processor, which is a single-core chip that looks a bit dated compared with recently unveiled quad-core behemoths like the HTC One X or the Huawei Ascend D Quad. This is partly because Windows Phone doesn't yet support multi-core processors.

But software is king, and if the Lumia 900 runs its Microsoft operating system as smoothly as the Lumia 800, I think I could forgive the processor not being as meaty as rival devices. Elsewhere there's an 8-megapixel camera.

Our American cousins are already enjoying the Lumia 900, though in the US it's got 4G tech that our weedy networks can't yet handle.

I've embedded a video of bequiffed gent Rich Trenholm playing with the Lumia 900 at the bottom of this story, so be sure to check that out. Once you're done, let me know whether you're planning on buying the Lumia 900 by saying so in the comments, or over on our Facebook wall.
