Nokia's long-rumored Lumia 1020 smart phone, which is tipped to sport a whopping 41-megapixel camera, has been spied in a freshly leaked picture.

The image of the elusive mobile -- previously referred to using its purported "EOS" codename -- was posted to Twitter by serial leakster evleaks, along with the text, "Nokia Lumia 1020 for AT&T, 2013."

The image certainly supports that carrier info, with the on-screen phone app clearly bearing the operator's branding.

Elsewhere the image also points to a "Pro Cam" app, which will doubtless be used in conjunction with the 1020's gargantuan snapper.

It's possible that the picture is a clever fake, or shows a different Lumia phone -- but the new picture does appear to match previous leaked snaps, which show a massive camera unit strapped to the mobile's rump.

We don't have long to wait, as Nokia has an event planned in a week's time, on July 11, where we're expecting to get our first official glimpse at its camera-centric new toy.

With Samsung recently showing off the half-camera, half-phone Galaxy S4 Zoom, the race to create the most magnificent camera phone is definitely on. Who are you cheering for? Let me know in the comments.
