In today's tech-news roundup:
- Learn how Nintendo plans to turn around tough times with new NFC figurines. Similar to the collectable characters for the Skylanders and Disney Infinity video games, Nintendo is working on figurines that will work across multiple games for both the Wii U and portable 3DS. The figurine would wirelessly save and transmit game data when placed on the Wii U GamePad's NFC sensor. According to Nintendo's financial results briefing, there will also be a wireless pad to read characters for the 3DS. The game maker also plans to develop new consoles for emerging markets.
- Be more social with the updated TuneIn app. The popular podcast and live-radio streaming app now lets you follow people and shows to share what you love with other followers.
- Shake up your makeup routine later this year with the Mink makeup 3D printer. Shown off at the TechCrunch Disrupt NY conference, this $300 printer promises to mix pigments to create custom creams or pressed powder. But if you have your eye on a more traditional 3D printer, you can win one from CNET in our 3rd Dimension Sweeps.
