NewsGator Technologies has acquired Web syndication rival Bradbury Software, the companies said Tuesday. Both specialize in RSS, or Really Simple Syndication, a method for distributing online news reports and blog entries to subscribers that's rapidly gaining popularity. The technology can deliver content to subscribers' mobile phones, e-mail in-boxes, televisions and Web pages.

NewsGator plans to distribute Bradbury's products, including FeedDemon and TopStyle, to its paid subscribers this summer for no additional charge. Nick Bradbury, the developer of both products, is expected to join NewsGator's staff. NewsGator did not disclose how much it paid for the company.
