The leaked images first appeared on Destructoid and appear to show a redesigned PlayStation controller attached to a development kit, meaning the image has presumably come from a development studio.

The big point of interest is what seems to be a touchscreen set into the front of the controller. The touch panel matches previous leaked reports that a forward-facing touchscreen would be integrated rather than a PS Vita style rear panel.

Sony remains tight lipped on its next generation console plans, but with a major event scheduled for 20 February in New York, we expect we'll get some formal confirmation in the near future on the device that is still codenamed Orbis.
