New Mac version of ePocrates to gain Windows parity

New Mac version of ePocrates to gain Windows parity

CNET staff

ePocrates, a manufacturer of Palm-based medical reference software, recently partnered with the Department of Health and Human Services to communicate bioterrorism alerts to the company's users (doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals) via DocAlert messages - a proprietary messaging scheme.

While this functionality has been absent from the Mac version of ePocrates until now, prompting numerous complaints from MacFixIt readers, company representative Bernice Fung let us know that the new ePocrates Rx Pro release will be on par with current Windows releases:

"When we launch ePocrates Rx Pro for Mac users in the coming weeks, they will be able to receive these alerts via AutoUpdate (when they HotSync while connected to the Internet). Currently the ePocrates AutoUpdate feature is not Mac-compatible so this will be a great boon for Mac users, allowing them to access important bioterrorism and clinical alert information."
