The latest trailer for the upcoming sci-fi sequel "Insurgent" features pixelated worlds and references to Tris as "the one." Remind you of anything?

A new full-length trailer for the upcoming sci-fi sequel "Insurgent" has landed, and the visuals suggest the movie might be channeling another classic of the genre.

In the opening scene, Tris Prioris is locked in a glass cage with several wires attached to her back, but manages to break free once she spots her enemy Jeanine Matthews staring back at her. Or, at least a virtual representation of Jeanine, anyway. As the trailer plays out, you start to realize the entire world is virtual, which makes sense given how much the first movie in the trilogy, "Divergent," focused on characters entering a dream world to face their fears. The trailer closes with the phrase "she is the one," suggesting that Tris can bring an end to the war between the factions.

Dream worlds. Wires coming out of people. A main character described as being The One who can bring an end to a long war... sounds eerily similar, no?

I actually really enjoyed "Divergent" and am looking forward to seeing what happens in "Insurgent," as the trailer suggests it will at least be action-packed and entertaining enough to keep the audience engaged for a few hours.

"Insurgent" comes to theaters on March 19 in Australia, and March 20 in the US and UK, followed by "Allegiant: Part 1" and "Allegiant: Part 2" in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
