New 'Guardians of the Galaxy' trailer is weird, wonderful
The hype continues to build for Marvel's summer blockbuster set for an August release and its, uh... eclectic cast of characters.
Any science fiction fan should be able to tolerate plenty of weirdness -- even including Jar Jar Binks -- and apparently Marvel's upcoming epic "Guardians of the Galaxy", which just saw its second trailer released on Monday, intends to see just how much we geeks are willing to tolerate.
Marvel's comic books have featured two separate "Guardians" teams, the first group originally introduced in a 1969 issue of "Marvel Super-Heroes", eventually getting their own short-lived comic book in the early 1990s. However, the team in this summer's movie follows the crew from the second volume, published from 2008 - 2010.
The cast of characters includes Star-Lord, played by the amiable Chris Pratt, Rocket Raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), Vin Diesel's Groot the tree-like being, and Zoe Saldana's Gamora, who will appeal to "Avatar" fans. It's a truly motley assortment, but this second trailer also makes it look like plenty of fun.
Check out the trailer and let us know in the comments if this in on your must-see list for summer. Then join the Crave crew Tuesday at Noon Pacific time when we discuss Guardians of the Galaxy and other upcoming blockbusters in our geek summer preview edition of the CraveCast.
