New APS drives may contain used components

New APS drives may contain used components

CNET staff
As noted by Richard Vallens, the following statement appears in the APS ad in the latest issue of MacWEEK:

"Your APS drive unit may contain one or more components that were in prior use, but which have been inspected and repaired or rebuilt as necessary. These components are equivalent or superior to new parts in performance and such components, if any, are covered by the above warranty provisions, exclusions, and limitations to the same extent, and on the same terms, as otherwise 'new' components. If you are not satisfied with your APS drive for this reason, it may be returned to APS within 30 days from the date of purchase, for a full refund by contacting APS as outlined above."

In other words, an APS drive labeled as new may have one or more used components! [Note: MacInTouch has a page covering more general issues regarding recycled components.]
