A trio of new TIL articles of note:

Mac OS 9: Enhanced CDs Mount Multiple Partitions (#31151)When you mount an enhanced CD, multiple partitions mount on the desktop in Mac OS 9. Apple explains: The CD/DVD driver, included with Mac OS 9, will mount the audio and data partitions of an enhanced CD simultaneously. This allows simultaneous access to both partitions of the CD from applications such as iMovie. With previous versions of the CD/DVD driver, the audio partition would not have been accessible. To eject the CD, drag all mounted CD partitions to the trash, or use the eject function in the CD control strip."

iMovie & Final Cut Pro: Cannot Export to Tape Error (#31150) When I export to tape I get the following message: "Not Possible to record to your camera. Please check your camera to make sure the tape is in and the tape record tab is in the closed position." This occurs most often when using a Digital 8 Camera, which uses a Hi-8 tape for playback and recording. There are two different types of Hi-8 Tapes--Metal Particle and Metal Evaporative. iMovie can only export to Metal Particle tapes. Using Metal Evaporative tapes can result in this error message being generated.

RAM Speed Specifications (#25077) states a well-known fact: "Apple's RAM specifications state the minimum speed to which the computer requires the RAM to be able to be accessed. It is the rated speed that the computer will access the RAM. The computer does not attempt to access the RAM faster if the RAM is rated faster."
