Watch 'Pirates of Silicon Valley' Online For Free GeekSugar reports that the 1999 movie about the early days of Apple founder Steve Jobs and Microsoft founder Bill Gates is available for free on Google video. "ER cast member Noah Wylie does his best Steve impression - which, honestly, leaves a whole lot to be desired - and Breakfast Club-er Anthony Michael Hall does his best as Gates, which means donning geeky glasses and a fluffy wig." Apple's Q2 results preview TheStreet.com surveys a group of analysts on Apple's prospects for second quarter financial results, due today. "'I think they will report a slight upside to the consensus revenue and EPS,' says Romeo Dator, co-manager of the U.S. Global Investors All American Equity Fund, which has Apple among its top 10 holdings. Dator expects a 'slight beat" to expectations of iPod sales of 10.7 million, while Mac sales are likely to be in line with the consensus of 1.45 million sold.' For the quarter, the analysts polled by Thomson First Call estimate a profit of 64 cents a share and revenue of $5.17 billion." More.

AT&T Offers ExpressCard 3G, But No Mac Drivers Wired News reports that AT&T's GT Max 3.6 Express doesn't ship with Mac OS X drivers, but claims Mac compatibility. "It's cheap, too, coming in under $50 with a contract and rebates; the main irritant about ExpressCard peripherals having been their outrageous '$120 for a USB hub' prices. In the meantime, Verizon and Sprint offer Novatel EVDO-capable cellular modems for the slot, with reports of OSX compatibility in the wild for Verizon's model (See here for more info) and out-of-the-box drivers with sprint. Amazon launches music downloads Amazon is launching a new music download service to compete with the iTunes store. "The Amazon service is expected to launch with EMI and several independent labels while its competitors wait to see if the removal of DRM significantly increases sales. Analysts said Amazon, which saw its profits halved in the final four months of last year, would nonetheless provide serious competition for Apple, which has cornered the download market with iTunes [...]."
