New and Noteworthy: Survey: Some iPod fans dump PCs for Macs; Watson now free
Survey: Some iPod fans dump PCs for Macs Providing evidence for the speculated iPod "halo" effect, new research indicates that some iPod purchasers are trading in their Wintel systems for Macs. CNET reports "The research found that 6 percent of iPod users have made the switch. An additional 7 percent said they are planning to dump their old PC for an Apple machine, according to the survey." Watson now free Watson, the web channel and search tool for which many features are no longer fully functional, is now free. A posting by the tool's developer reads: "A few months has gone by, and though Karelia can no longer support the program, or even keep copies of it, the program is circulating around on the Internet. So why not follow Audion's lead and do something similar? So ... as of today, Watson (bumps and bruises and all, but still in decent shape) is now freely available." More.
