Stolen Macs end up on eBay Two eBay buyers had to surrender their new Macs bought on the eBay Internet auction site. The equipment was part of the loot taken in a pre-dawn, window-smashing burglary at the Apple computer store in Germantown about seven weeks ago. "I had it for a couple of weeks; then an officer calls me and tells me I have to give it back," said Smith, 25, a senior at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. More.

68K creator speaks on processor future From the New York Times: "We're coming upon a sea change in the world of semiconductors," said Nick Tredennick, a technical adviser to QuickSilver who was the designer of the Motorola 68000 microprocessor, which powered the Apple Macintosh in the 1980's and early 90's, and is now the editor of the Gilder Technology Report newsletter.
