Steve Jobs, Jonathan Ive on Agenda Setter's list Macworld UK reports that Apple's senior vice president Jonathan Ive and company CEO Steve Jobs have both been named a leading Agenda Setter for 2005 by Silicon.com. "Jobs holds second place on the list. 'Apple and Jobs have continued to impress with the turnaround of the business,' a short report writes. A panelist said: 'It's not just innovation, it's really long-lasting innovation. Something like the Mac, which could easily have disappeared long ago, has stayed there for years simply because of the quality of the product,' according to the report." More.

Detriot public schools to lease Mac The Detroit News reports that the Detroit Public Schools and Apple Computer Inc. have inked an up to $1.2 million, four-year deal in which the district will lease computer equipment for a new small technology-focused school inside Crockett High School. "Apple in turn will give the district more than 100 days worth of technology and teaching support, including on-site help in classrooms as teachers and students learn to use the laptops, said the district's Chief Academic Officer Juanita Clay Chambers. Detroit is using federal dollars to pay for the lease." More.
