Rumor watch: Apple 30-year product bonanza? Macworld UK reports "A new open season of rumour and speculation has begun in advance of Apple's thirtieth anniversary on April 1. AppleInsider believes the company will invite media to an anniversary bash at which new products will debut, either just before or just after April 1. The report predicts new Intel-powered iBooks, a larger-screened (17-inch) MacBook Pro, and an 'iPod-related' product may debut at the show, should any event take place around April 1." More.
Apple to hire 3,000 by 2007 The India Economic Times reports on Apple's new support center there. "For once, it is not thinking different. Like its fellow global technology majors, Apple Computer too has decided to set up a massive technical support centre in India. Sources say Apple will hire as many as 1,500 people by the end of this year, and have a total of 3,000 employees by the end of 2007 in its Bangalore facility. This will be the $14 billion firm's first support centre outside of its Cupertino (California) headquarters." More.
