Roxio: Blu-Ray drives to include new version of Toast for Mac OS X Roxio says that the next version of its popular DVD/CD recording software Toast for Mac OS x will come bundled with new Blu-Ray drives from various manufacturers. PortalIT reports "With Toast, Mac users that would buy a Blu-ray device would be able to record as much as 50GB of data on a BD-R (recordable) or BD-RE (rewritable) disc. The drives are scheduled to be released later this quarter. According to Roxio, the upcoming version will be available exclusively to users who buy the new Blu-ray drives. The users receive the full Toast Titanium version, not a Lite one. However, it seems that the new version won't have anything more than Blu-ray related features." More.

Will Apple dump ATI for NVIDIA? ZDNet speculates that AMD's announcement that it will acquire graphics chipset maker ATI may push Apple toward chipsets from Nvidia. "Will Intel allow Apple to continue to working with ATI on graphics after the company becomes wholly owned by rival AMD? I think that we'll probably see Intel gently 'suggest' that Apple switch to another vendor for graphics technology in 2007. Once the dust settles I bet that all Macs from here on out will ship with graphics from either Intel or NVIDIA." More.

New Warner Bros. titles at iTunes music store Apple and Warner Bros. have announced that the sitcom "Friends," sci-fi epic "Babylon 5" and some of the most popular sketches from "MADtv," as well as animated classics including "The Jetsons" and "The Flintstones" are now available on the iTunes music store.
