Photoshop Elements 3.0 Adobe has announced Photoshop Elements 3.0. The new release has updated editing tools including improved red eye removal. A press release reads "Hit-features from Photoshop CS, including the powerful Healing Brush and the new Spot Healing Brush, fix blemishes and imperfections or even remove whole objects from photos with one click. Photoshop Elements 3.0 also supports Camera Raw functionality for the processing of raw data and 16-bit images for the brightest and most lifelike color." Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 for Mac OS X, 10.2.8 or 10.3 has an estimated street price of US$89.99 and will ship later this fall. More.

Microsoft's music store duplicates iTunes A New York Times article examines the similarities between Microsoft's music store and the iTunes music store: "On Sept. 2, Microsoft unveiled its iTunes Music Store. That sentence may sound a little strange, but that is, in fact, what happened. The Microsoft music store (in beta at music.msn.com) couldn't look more like Apple's iTunes music store (itunes.com) if you ran it through a copying machine. 'Apple set the bar very high,' a Microsoft manger admitted. 'We're trying to match that. We told our developers, 'Look at how Apple does it.'" More.

Bose Introduces The SoundDock Digital Music System Bose has introduced the SoundDock digital music system, which lets iPod owners access, control and listen to their stored music via a docking mechanism. A press release states "The SoundDock system includes a proprietary acoustic design that delivers clear, full sound across the entire musical spectrum. Using an integrated system approach, the amplifiers, equalizers and speakers are matched; there is no need for the user to make complex adjustments to ensure superb acoustic performance. Patented integrated signal processing automatically adjusts tonal balance, so music sounds natural at any volume." More.
