No more Mac Internet Explorer Roz Ho, the general manager of Microsoft's Mac Business Unit, has confirmed to MacUser UK that no future versions of Internet Explorer will be released for the Mac. Ho says that the decision has been made to make way for Apple's own Safari browser. 'Some of the key customer requests for web browsing on the Mac require close development between the browser and the OS, something to which only Apple has access,' she explained. More.

802.11g Demonstrates White Lies of Wi-Fi Ross Rubin notes that Wi-Fi manufacturers and marketers are using the same tactics used early on by display and hard drive vendors that can overstate products' statistics. "Take 802.11b, which is is touted as providing 11 Mbits per second. However, its typical maximum throughput is closer to 4 or 5 Mbps. Like other white lies, ones about bandwidth tend to spiral and grow. Even larger gaps exist between the theoretical and stated throughputs of 802.11a and 802.11g." More.
