Napster's Back: as a paid service Napster is coming back, this time as a paid music service in partnership with two of the record labels that fought to shut it down. A Reuters report states "In an ironic coda to the Napster saga, CD-burning software maker Roxio Inc., said it had bought Pressplay, a struggling online music service launched by Vivendi Universal and Sony Corp., for about $39.5 million in cash and stock." Internet worm disguised as e-mail from Microsoft A new computer worm that disguises itself as an e-mail from Microsoft Corp. is spreading. The e-mail containing the worm, dubbed Palyh or Mankx, appears to come from support@microsoft.com, but is not from the software company. "When the attachment is opened, the worm copies itself to the Windows folder, scoops up e-mail addresses from the hard disk and starts sending itself out, said U.K-based Sophos." More.
