Macworld Boston switching venues The Boston Globe reports that IDG is once again switching its Summer Macworld Expo venue -- this time to a smaller center in Boston. "After more than a year of negotiating brought the Macworld Conference and Expo back from New York to Boston in April, the show's organizer, IDG World Expo of Framingham, said yesterday that it is moving the show again -- to the Hynes Convention Center on Boylston Street. Several years of declining attendance, a battered technology sector, and a soured relationship between IDG and Apple Computer Corp. left Macworld too small for the new convention center, executives said yesterday." iPod a posh hotel perk CNET reports on a new attempt by luxury hotels to please their clientele: an iPod on the pillow. "Dream, a new Manhattan four-star, is one of the latest boutique hotels to offer guests the use of Apple's popular music gadget during their stay. The iPods come preloaded with as many as 2,000 songs and are available for each of the Dream's 200 rooms, said Dream spokesman Andy Patrizia." More.
Konfabulator heading to Windows ZDNN reports that the creator of Konfabulator -- which he claims partially influenced Mac OS X 10.4's Dashborad function -- is taking his product to Windows. "Even moving to Windows may not ensure Konfabulator free reign. Microsoft's plans for the next version of Windows reportedly include a slightly different twist on the same idea. The company has demonstrated a feature called Sidebar that allows access to similar sorts of information in one part of the Windows screen." More.
