IDG announces Macworld Expo in Boston IDG World Expohas confirmed plans for Macworld Conference Expo to take place at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC) July 12-15, 2004. A press release states "Macworld Conference and Expo spent 13 of its 19 years in Boston before relocating to New York City in 1998. On October 17, 2002, IDG World Expo announced plans for the event's 2004 return to Boston to be held in the new BCEC." The release makes no mention of Apple's participation in the conference. More.

1 GB RAM module for PowerBook G4 12" debuts Trans International has introduced a 1 GB RAM modeule for the PowerBook G4 12", bringing the systems total expansion capability to 1152 MB. The unit is priced at US$499. More.

Opera 7.2 released, for Windows only eWeek reports that Opera Software ASA has released a beta version of the next release of its Web browser for Windows that features faster performance and support for bidirectional languages. "Opera 7.20 for Windows Beta, announced Wednesday, focuses on improving Java Script performance, once a weak point for Opera, as well as faster user interface, and Web page rendering and reformatting, said Opera CEO Jon S. von Tetzchner."
