Google's Mac OS X tribute vanishes Yesterday we noted a tribute to Mac OS X, complete with an emulated dock for navigation, posted as an alternative Google home page. Now CNET reports that the site has been pulled. "Google software engineer Chikai Ohazama played up his work, Google X, on the company's blog on Tuesday. Located on Google's test site, Google X featured an alternate way to connect to various services, allowing people to click on a series of graphical icons in a method inspired by a feature in Apple's operating system. As of Wednesday afternoon, however, the Web page was inaccessible." More.

BusinessWeek: "Lay off your fans, Apple" In an editorial discussing Apple's recent litigation aimed at stopping the leakage of NDA materials, BusinessWeek says "I want to focus on Apple, and, truth is, the company has more to lose than gain from these suits. But going after the Web sites or forcing them to divulge their sources will put the company in the middle of a freedom-of-speech firestorm that will be a costly distraction for management, and could tarnish the Apple brand."
