For Apple, '05 a landmark year TechWorld writes that from record-breaking quarterly financial reports and the release of Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger" to the announced transition of the Macintosh to Intel chips and new iPods, 2005 has been an amazing year for Apple. "The company started off 2005 by announcing a $295 million profit and the highest quarterly revenue and net income in its history. Apple sold 1.04 million Macintosh computers and 4.5 million iPods for the quarter, which represented a staggering 525 per cent year-over-year increase in iPod sales alone." More.

Apple's Tiger is Infoworld 'OS of 2006' Apple's Mac OS X Tiger OS is the best of 2006, according to InfoWorld. Announcing its 2006 Technology of the Year awards, Infoworld's Test Centre Staff declared Mac OS X Tiger the 'Best Client Operating System' and Mac OS X Server Tiger the 'Best Server Operating System' of 2006.
