Developers: Apple Tweaking Language for Leopard CRN reports that Apple is making minor modifications to Objective-C for Leopard. "Developer Wolf Paulus, in discussing one of those briefings last week in L.A., writes: 'All of the great and compelling desktop applications for the Mac are written in Objective-C, a somewhat strange language but still very similar to C and C . And for the first time in a very long time, the Objective-C language is being changed and not in a small way [...] Some of the new Objective-C features will only be available in the 64-bit version, meaning the compiled code will only run on PowerPC-G5 and Intel-Core-2-Duo powered Macs, leaving all those 1st generation Intel Macs (Core-Solo and Core-Duo) in dark . . there had to be a reason why the Mac Mini and the iMac have the processor on a socket instead of being directly soldered onto the board." Apple boosts RAID storage on Xserve IT Pro reports that Apple has increased the amount of storage available in its Xserve Raid system. "The additional capacity comprises 14 750GB Ultra ATA drives as a build to order option." More.

Parallels is owned by SWSoft TechWhack reports that Virtualization software developers Parallels have confirmed that they are indeed owned by SWSoft. "The company had to issue this statement after a report claiming this fact was published in Fortune magazine. The company is popularly known for their Parallels Desktop for Mac. People had assumed that the company was special because it was so popular despite being just a regular startup." More.
