CNN uses G5 for 'Election Express' MacFixIt reader Mike Yerky points out that a new coverage device from CNN utilizes the Power Mac G5: "Just watched CNN's Crossfire where they (Paul Begala and Tucker Carlson) introduced their new CNN Election Express, a studio on wheels. The first feature they presented was: "A Mac G5, the most powerful computer. We can make and edit stories right here. You could make an entire documentary on that."

Venture capitalists speculate on Wi-Fi future An eWeek report notes that some venture capitalists are dubious about the investment potential for 802.11 networking. "The wireless market is significantly overfunded, venture capitalists said last week, portending a shakeout. Still, they couldn't help but list a number of new sectors that will need additional capital. If nothing else, the panel at the WiFi Planet show here Friday underscored the perception of wireless as a 'hot technology.' Roughly $2.5 billion has been invested in the sector, which has produced only $2 billion or so in revenue to date, according to Neeraj Bharadwaj, a general partner with Apax Partners, in New York."
