BBC: Podcasting could be a revolution Writing for the BBC, -- details his foray into the world of podcasting, and why he thinks the phenomenon will expand in months to come. "The name is rather inelegant, but I fear we are stuck with it. It is also misleading, since podcasting has nothing to do with the iPod and you do not need to be using Apple's hardware or software. For example, while iPodder will send files automagically to your iTunes music library, you can use the auto-sync and auto-playlist features on Windows Media Player to get exactly the same results, and then send the resulting files to any MP3 player you like." Tiger's intro music CMJ reports on the band that provided the intro music for Mac OS X 10.4.1. "To make the installation of their latest operating system, Mac Os X Tiger (10.4.1), as ultra-cool as possible, the computer giant has plucked a song by electro-indie duo Weevil called 'Bytecry' for the introductory animation. Formed six years ago in Southeast London by Tom Betts and Jonny Pilcher (a third founder, Ambrose Seddon has since left), the band pairs subdued rock with electronic instruments for the kind of low-key ambience perfect for enjoying modern technology (or movies starring Zach Braff).
