New and Noteworthy: Audion retired, free; France says Apple not anti-competitive
Audion retired, now free A long -- but fascinating and engrossing -- article on the Panic website takes a look at the history of Audion, the innovative and popular Mac MP3 player the company has officially "retired" (but made available for free): "Audion is... competing with a product that, you know, we actually use ourselves. When you double-click the competition in the morning, that's a pretty good sign that it's time to hang up your hat!" The article also includes some great history/background information on iTunes. France says Apple not anti-competitive The French Competition Council recently dismissed VirginMega's anti-competition complaint against Apple's iTunes Music Store DRM (digital rights management) system, stating that the complaint was lacking in "sufficiently convincing elements." More and more.
