Apple's latest iPod ad a rip-off? NewsFactor reports that Apple's new ad featuring rapper Eminem, set to his hit "Lose Yourself," is under scrutiny after some keen ad watchers suggested it bears a startling resemblance to an earlier commercial for Lugz boots. "Both ads show hip-hop figures dancing in silhouette against an orange-hued, urban backdrop with plenty of graffiti. There are some differences worth noting as well, such as the dancing styles and music. Madison Avenue execs are quick to point out that many campaigns build or borrow from each other, and few ideas are truly original." More.

Aperture = Adobe's frown TheStreet reports that while Apple touted the fact that the new program will work well with Photoshop, Adobe's program that dominates the photo-editing market, "the new software has the potential to carve into Adobe's cash cow." "Aperture is just one of a number of programs developed to handle specific tasks that Photoshop doesn't yet address, Kevin Connor, Adobe's director of product management for digital imaging, said in an email statement.
